About AEEE
Amrita Entrance Examination – Engineering (AEEE) is the entrance test administered and conducted by Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham for admission to its prestigious B.Tech programs offered across its various campuses.
AEEE is a national-level exam, known for its rigorous and fair assessment of candidates’ aptitude in subjects like Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry.
The examination offers students a gateway to join one of India’s top-ranked private engineering institutions, renowned for its high academic standards, world-class academic infrastructure, and strong emphasis on research and innovation. AEEE is offered as computer-based format, for candidates across the country.

Pattern of AEEE
- Duration of the Exam : 150 Minutes (2.5 Hours)
- Mode of Exam : Computer Based Test (CBT) held at various cities across the country.

English: 5 questions - Marks: 3 (three) marks are awarded for each correct answer and -1 (minus one) for each wrong answer.
How to Apply
Interested candidates can login to the official admission portal, https://aeee.amrita.edu , to submit their application online. To submit the application form, candidates must fill out personal information and academic profile. Candidates must select one of AEEE 2025, JEE Mains while deciding on the mode of admissions. Select the exam centre, date, and slot information if you’ve chosen AEEE 2025.
Eligibility
Educational Qualification: A pass in 10 + 2 (Class XII) or its equivalent examination from a recognized board with minimum 60% aggregate of marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry and with not less than 55% in each of these three subjects, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Candidate passing out in 2025 and passed out in 2024 can apply.
Important Update
Candidates applying for B.Tech. programs can now qualify even if any one subject (Physics, Chemistry, or Mathematics) has marks between 50% and 55%, provided the overall aggregate across these three subjects remains at least 60%.
This updated eligibility applies for participation in the second and subsequent allotment rounds.
“All subjects in the qualifying examination must be completed and passed in the same year and from the same board. Passing any subject from a different board or in a different year will not be considered valid”.
Admission Process
According to the performance of candidates in the entrance exam, candidates who meet the requirements for AEEE 2025 will be offered admission to the University’s B.Tech programmes through a Centralised Seat Allotment Process (CSAP). Two phases of the AEEE will be held in January and April 2025. Candidates can attend the exam in January or April. The AEEE is conducted at more than 90 centres spread across the country. Best percentile score is taken to rank the candidates attending both the phases.
Additionally, the university grants admission to its engineering programmes based on the percentile secured in JEE Mains also. 70% of the seats in each branch are open to applicants with the AEEE 2025. Rest of the 30% seats are reserved for those who received good percentile scores in one of the sessions of JEE Mains 2025.

Coimbatore Campus
The beginnings of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, one of the top ranked deemed university, can be traced back to 1994 when a School of Engineering was established in an obscure village named Ettimadai, situated at the foothills of the Bouluvanpatty ranges of the Western Ghats in the Coimbatore district of Tamil Nadu. During that time, there were 120 students and 13 faculty members. Today, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham has expanded to Seven campuses located in three different states of India. It has a student population of over 12,000 and a faculty strength of nearly 1,500. The university offers more than 120 UG, PG, and doctoral programs. When Amrita became an institution in January 2003, it was the youngest group of institutions to be conferred.

No, you will be able to choose your campus and program during the Centralized Seat Allotment Process (CSAP), after the publication of AEEE 2025 ranks, based on seat availability and your rank or JEE Mains 2025 percentile.
Does Amrita offer admissions through a management quota?
There is no management quota. Admissions are categorised into Scholarship and Non-Scholarship categories. Admission through scholarship is based on AEEE/JEE performance.

Is lateral entry available for Diploma candidates?
No, there is no lateral entry admission for the B.Tech program.
Is AEEE mandatory, or will JEE Mains scores be considered for admission to the B.Tech program?
No, AEEE is not mandatory. JEE Main scores will also be considered for B.Tech admission.
What is the syllabus and question pattern for AEEE?
The questions (MCQs) will be based on the State Board of Higher Secondary Education and the CBSE syllabus.

What are the eligibility criteria for B.Tech admission?

When can I get my AEEE ranking?
After each AEEE phase, your performance will be shown in percentile. The final rank is published after all phases, and the best percentile is considered for assigning the rank.
When will the CSAP process begin?
Applicants can apply for seat allotment after the AEEE rank declaration. A CSAP registration link will be sent to applicants. They can list up to 41 preferences of branch and campus combinations.
What is the counselling fee?
The counselling fee for CSAP registration is INR 5000.
Is the counselling fee refundable?
Yes, the fee is refundable only if none of the preferred branches are allotted until the end of CSAP.
How are scholarships awarded to students?
Scholarships are awarded based on entrance exam rank. The scholarship slab depends on rank, branch, seat availability, and the number of applicants.

No, scholarships are awarded based on entrance exam performance (AEEE or JEE).
How can I prepare for the AEEE exam?
To prepare for AEEE:
Study Material: Follow NCERT textbooks for Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
Mock Tests: Take online mock tests to familiarize yourself with the exam pattern.

No, we do not have a cutoff system for AEEE or JEE. Seat allocation is based on students’ ranks in AEEE/JEE, the number of applications, and applicants’ preferences, which vary each year. All applicants with AEEE/JEE scores are eligible to register for CSAP (Centralized Seat Allotment Process).
